An international agreement to safeguard African elephants

But the document was signed Tuesday, December 3 in Gaborone (Botswana) could have a broader scope than the previous. Indeed, it includes among its signatories the "gang of eight".  
Eight countries accused of passivity or complicity to trafficking of ivory: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania origin, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam for transit, particularly China and Thailand, the biggest consumers of ivory, to arrival.

ZERO TOLERANCE

 The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) , co-organizer of a conference on the elephant, with the Botswana government, there has advocated an approach of "  zero tolerance " , which resulted in this agreement
